Heart Rate VariabilityThe understanding and measurement of Heart Rate Variability – HRV – was discovered by cardiologists about 30-40 years ago. With one important exception, it is little used by the medical profession since they can only to make a small improvement to a person’s HRV using drugs over an extended period. Dr. Callahan was introduced to HRV by Dr. Fuller Royal, a cardiologist working in Nevada. Dr. Royal was treating his patients with homeopathic products and during a consultation decided to try using TFT. By taking a five-minute HRV test both before and after the TFT treatment, he decided this would show him if TFT was of any help to his patients. He wasn’t expecting much, but to his amazement, the treatment made an immediate, and large. improvement to the HRV reading! After he had repeated similar dramatic results from treating many more of his patients this way, he rang Dr. Callahan to explain he did not really know what was going on, but thought Dr. Callahan should come and see the results for himself! As a result many TFT practitioners are now using HRV Testing, not only to show a measurement of the cure of a psychological problem after a TFT treatment, but also to show quite clearly the effect of Energy Toxins on a person’s Autonomic Nervous System. The HRV test is taken very simply over five minutes by having the client place a finger on a small infra-red sensor. Alternatively, there is also an ear-clip version. During this time the heart rate variability is measured continuously. The greater the figure, the greater the variation. A decline towards zero in HRV has been found to be the best predictor of mortality since at that dangerously low level there is a great risk of sudden cardiac arrest! It is in this area where HRV is still used medically – in the maternity ward. A mother who is not quite ready for birth will be put is a side room to wait and the HRV sensor put on her stomach to monitor the baby’s heart. If the variation of the heart rate suddenly starts to drop, then fast action with a Caesarean birth would be necessary. The Summary of an HRV test shows the condition of the person’s Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). It will show the relative activity of the two components of the system (the Sympathetic and Parasympathetic) and so whether they are depressed, in “overdrive” or in balance. The HRV Test clearly shows the effect of individual energy toxins, which can dramatically alter ANS balance. The psychological effect on the activity of the ANS is also shown clearly since we ask the person to think of their emotional problems in both the tests before and after treatment. TFT treatments are able to make major improvements to the client’s ANS as shown by HRV testing. The diagnosis and temporary negation of all toxins alone improves overall physical health to a great degree and then the following treatment of emotional problems completes the cure.
